LED Lights – Economically Illuminating The Future

Light bulbs can be a boring and dreary topic. They are one of those must buy purchases from a DIY store that have you unwillingly trudging around trying to find the right bulb. Not anymore.

LED lights have been introduced. They are the future, not just for interior lighting, but for art pieces, video virals and music concerts.

Now a bit of the technical stuff for you, just so you know how technologically advanced these LED lights are.

  • Led lights improve the quality of our environment as they use a lot less electrical power; a 12 watt LED light is the equivalent to an 80 Watt incandescent light, therefore…yep you guessed it, saving money on our electric bill! Now who can complain about that?
  • Another plus is that they last for a long, long time. They can be utilised for over 50,000 hours. Now if you want to work out the math for that, it is as follows… If you switch the LED lights on and left them on continuously, you could in theory leave them on for a total of 5 years before needing to replace them. This of course demonstrates that they are extremely cost effective.
  • LED lights can do all this because nearly 100% of their energy is released as light, compared to other lights which disperse a lot of their energy through heat.

LED lights are no longer just for interior light bulbs, exterior garden lighting, or big warehouse lighting. They are used by some of the most famous people in the world. All those music concerts, those festivals and gigs we all camp out in the rain for, all of them use LED lighting for the stage. This is because they have…

  • Low power consumption
  • They have striking colour effects and high volumes of brightness
  • They have a low heat radiation
  • They are Light-weight and portable

LED lights are not restricted to stage performances, they are also considered to be art. I know some of you may find this strange, but it is becoming a really popular art form. Many artists have used LED lighting in their collections, Jenny Holzer being one of the most well known LED artists. LED lighting can be used in Installation art, sculptural pieces and interactive art works. LED art is completely unique and a refreshing change to typical art collections.
